Friends of Frankie is a charity set up by Frankie’s parents after the sudden death of Frankie in May 2019. He was a happy, healthy 3 year old who was put to bed as normal, only to be found unresponsive the next morning. 

Friends of Frankie started by raising money for the incredible Alder Hey Bereavement Centre who provide support for bereaved parents, siblings and other family members who find themselves in this horrendous position. Frankie spent some time there after he fell asleep and the care myself and Frankie’s Daddy James received from them was incredible. In December 2019, the total
raised for the bereavement centre by Friends of Frankie totalled £10,000!

We have now started raising money to fund research
into Sudden Unexplained Death in Children through SUDC UK. This is so very important, we need to find out how and why this happens so that we can work towards preventing it happening to other children. We were proud to donate £20,000 to SUDC in January 2020. 

In May 2020 we were due to run the Manchester 10k to raise even more money for this important cause but the coronavirus restrictions have put a stop to that!  

Soooooo instead we’re asking you to get your thinking caps on! What 10 things could you do on Sunday 6th September to help us raise £10k?! 10 tik toks? 10 hours of silence?!

SUDC UK is dedicated to increasing awareness in the UK and funding crucial research.The sudden unexplained death of a child is one of the most under-recognised medical tragedies of our time. SUDC is the Sudden Unexplained Death of a child over the age of twelve months. Over 40 children 1-18 are affected each year in the UK.
