Story
Described as the highest 'Altitude Mountain in the world' with an impressive height of 8848 m (5.5 miles), Mount Everest located in the Himalayas (Asia)has proven a difficult challenge for many experienced climbers over the years.
Serving soldiers from 1 Royal School of Military Engineering (1 RSME), Professional Engineering Wing (PEW), Clerk of Works (Construction) have taken on the arduous challenge set by Rachel Chitty (Blind Veterans UK-Regional Fundraiser) to climb the height of Everest on a 6m mobile climbing wall!!
This will see the team competitively work towards reaching the summit of 'Everest' with each individual completing 105 climbs!! This will be a strength sapping challenge, test of team work and pure stamina.
By raising funds for Blind Veterans UK, we will be providing direct support to vision impaired veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces. This will aid in their relearning process of vital life skills as well as providing them with the tools needed to be independent.
The challenge will take place in Brighton town centre on Saturday 17th February 2018.
