Story

Matt's story:

Sadly, on the 11/11/2014, my mum lost her battle with cancer. My mum was a fantastic woman and is a huge loss to everyone that knew her. It's really hit me hard having lost my mum, but I will turn that energy into my fundraising efforts! I cannot thank Farleigh enough for all their efforts before, during and even now after mum's passing. One day I will hit my target of £100,000!!

It was October 2014 when my mum's cancer had gone terminal and unfortunately came to the point where she had to be admitted to a Hospice for pain relief and care. Thankfully she was able to get a bed at Farleigh Hospice.

Seeing their amazing care and support for not just my mum but the care and support of family members that stay and visit is incredible. If you need someone to talk to, a room to go and sit in or even just a tea and a biscuit, it is all there to use as you wish to make a difficult time easier.

With little funding from the government, it is down to those that have had the privilege in this difficult time to have benefited from the service they provide and those that have seen someone close be affected by this horrible disease, to raise money for Farleigh.

Please dig deep and donate, as every penny goes towards a great cause.

I have set up one page and an overall target of £100,000 I would like to reach in a lifetime of fundraising! I want to help this wonderful charity give the love and support they've given to the one that i love, to others in the same situation.

August 2017: So my good friend Ashley Garrard and myself have decided to sign up for a skydive on the 13th of August. April 2015: London Marathon completed!

December 2014: I will attempt to walk 500,000 steps in the 31 days of December.
