Story
Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. That’s ten every day. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. We fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer and we work to protect young lives through essential welfare programmes.
If you know me, you will know that I am not a natural born runner! After fracturing my ankle in April I will be starting from scratch with my training! I will be running, training, crying (and probably moaning) and enduring physical, emotional and mental pain, to help ensure that children and young people hopefully do not have too in the future!
Over the next coming summer and autumn (and the dreaded winter) months I will be pounding the pavements aiming to come close to the elusive 26.2 miles! Alongside working full time as an operating department practitioner I will be training, fundraising and badgering people for sponsors! I will aim to update my progress via a blog which I will hope to update weekly! Please, please feel free to give as much or as little as you can to help support this fantastic cause!
With help from friends, local businesses and other members of the public I will be looking to organise raffles, coffee mornings, a possible garden party, a quiz night and a caricaturist!! Any other ideas are greatly received so feel free to get in touch!
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and here’s to the next 10 months!!!
Morgan xoxo
