Story
Hi,
As many of you know, COVID19 has had a huge impact on the nation's health, with many people of all ages being affected. The impact of COVID19 is not simply limited to physical suffering, the mental repercussions are equally as important. The majority of the generation is struggling and although our lives have been put on hold during this pandemic, our mental health should not be. Being someone who is aware and feels so strongly about this, I want to do anything that I can to help. Volunteering for the Samaritans and being in my second year at University with the dream to become a clinical psychologist, I’m not yet qualified to help people at first hand but at the very least I want to have a positive influence and raise awareness for a mental health charity, MIND.
This April, I will complete 3 marathons. This will mean running around 3 miles a day in order to raise money for my chosen charity.
If you’re not able to donate, or if you have other preferred charities, then I would still love for you to take something away from reading this. Please reach out to someone about a problem you may have and take the time to offer support to someone who may be struggling. Encourage them to speak to someone. In doing so, you are ensuring that one less person is battling a mental health problem alone.
Good mental health is living actively and passionately, not just existing.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
