Story

That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going.

As most of you know I'm a big fan of the South West coastal path ( and so I am trying again to run further as I only made 70 miles last time) and it's a place I like to go. It's also 630 miles long so I will defiantly have enough of a route to run in one go before I run out of path. I intend to do this on my own but with some support in terms of safety and keeping my body fuelled at stages. This quest will begin at the chain ferry in sandbanks (Studland beach side) and finish at a point that will be dictated by my legs.

I will be running self sufficient with designated refuelling stops along route. I can't say I'm not slightly anxious about this but I believe this will only help me in achieving something memorable.

The RMC is a charity I love to do stuff for and with all the hard work that goes on it is an absolute pleasure to begin this personal quest.

I appreciate the support from my last effort (only 70 miles and I’m gutted so this time I promise to do more). so I'm going to have to work hard to get you to part with anymore. But I'm confident that when you see this you will support me and even help me along at stages if you wish.

Starting on the 06 Apr 2018 at 1600 from Studland beach and I will begin to run with no other plans than, just how far will I get. The evenings will clearly slow me down and I will have to slow the pace for safety reasons. I will always have someone with me at different stages of the run. I do not intend to sleep at any stage until I finish. This will truly be a test of my endurance but one that I think will be memorable and something to tell the kids one day.

From Swanage I will be running with the kids for a mile and letting them raise a few pounds also and will be great to have them onboard. If you would like to come and run with me please get hold of me on Facebook under Pauls Gump.

So all that is left to say is "Run Forrest Run".

All the best
