Story
This March marks ten years since we lost Royan’s brother, Lance, to suicide. He was 27 years old and in a very dark place. We miss him greatly, and hope he knows how loved he still is.
Over the years, we have been further affected by mental health problems and have come close to losing others to suicide. Society has come a long way in the last decade when it comes to talking about our mental health, but not far enough. Suicide is still the biggest killer of under 35s in the UK, and 75% of those who die by suicide in the UK are men. We know too many of you reading this have also lost someone to suicide and we want to do something to help prevent others from experiencing the same thing.
With this on our minds and in our hearts, we’ve created a fundraiser in Lance’s memory which aims to raise £1000. This money will go to Papyrus (www.papyrus-uk.org), a charity working to prevent young suicide, and will help cover the costs of their helpline, text and email services. Please donate what you can.
And remember: Your worst day doesn’t have to be your last.
