We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

December 2014 I was obese, doing no exercise and was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. I was angry and upset at giving myself a potentially life limiting condition. With the support of the Diabetes UK helpline and other education programmes they support, I learned about my condition and what I could do to help myself. January 2015 I joined the local running club 'Gibside Runners' and with their help completed the Couch to 5k programme. I've since gone on to complete several half marathons and even a couple of triathlons.

This year I turn 50, and decided to set myself a challenge - to run a full marathon. I have lots of races planned over the year to help me get ready, and will train hard to hopefully finish in under 7 hours.

Please support me by donating whatever you can so that others can get the support I did, and to help fund education and research programmes.

Thank you x
