We educate, support & raise awareness to save lives and improve outcomes.

Story

We continue to try and raise awareness of sepsis in memory of a wonderful Mum, Wife and Grandma. In February 2017, Mum was taken ill with the usual type of Winter condition. This accelerated quickly to sepsis and Mum was admitted to emergency care where she battled for her life for nearly 3 weeks. Sadly, she was unable to beat it and we lost her on March 15th 2017.

We have vowed to try and raise awareness of Sepsis in whatever way we can, I have appeared on local radio BBC CWR, have filmed some short clips with UHCW hospital and Coventry City Council which are on You Tube and are used now as training material for nurses, something I am very proud of. We are regularly utilising social media to also help raise awareness.

Now, we are having a special fundraising day at work. Encouraging colleagues and friends to wear something Orange, and having a Make and Bake cake sale. Please help or donate in what ever way you can.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
