Fundraising for Vision Support
Story
So happy to finally announce that Turn a Blind Eye's first charity fundraising event will be 'The Blind Climb', raising funds for Vision Support Charity.
Last August, I was told I'd lost my sight, and that I might never see again. Although that was a scary prospect, what scared me more was that I was going to be swept aside and that I wouldn't be able to make a difference in the world.
Throughout the last 12 months, I've tried hard to change the perception of how people view those with disabilities. I've set myself loads of challenges over the last year, and had many experiences and gained new hobbies that would not normally be associated with someone who is blind, and this has hopefully begun to help change that perception. I've now just set my biggest challenge so far.
On 15th August, I have organised a small team of visually impaired people to take on Snowdown - Wales' highest peak. We will be joined by some blindfolded people too, who will be experiencing what it's like to walk as a visually impaired person.
The support on this page has been overwhelming, and has pushed me to continue to do more, and be better every day and I hope you'll be able to support me on my biggest challenge so far. Please donate what you can, and help to make a difference to so many visually impaired people at the same time.
