Story

3 Peaks - Take Two!

As you may know, last August we had to cancel the challenge after Ben Nevis following a severe injury to a member of the team.
On 21st June we will be starting the challenge from scratch, keep up to date with our posts on social media and wish us luck!

Some very positive news: Amanda has now been listed for a lung transplant in Geneva, Switzerland! She is still going strong and although has her ups and downs fighting CF and lung rejection, she remains the happy and positive person we all know and love. With hope restored, we face this challenge with a much more enthusiastic approach!

Original story below.

Now the sun is finally out, what better time is there to be outside climbing some peaks and raising money for charity! We are taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge on August 11th. We will be driving up to Scotland on Friday 10th and commencing our climb up Ben Nevis the following evening, after which we will head down to Scafell Pike and finally Snowdon, in 24 hours (hopefully!). A special mention goes to Kevin who has volunteered to take on all the driving!

We will be raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, in turn supporting one of our dear friends Amanda Chalmers, one of the most inspirational people you could ever meet. Amanda had a double lung transplant nearly 6 years ago and since has wasted no time in achieving everything she couldn't pre-transplant. Earlier this year, Amanda received the devastating news that she needed another transplant but would not be relisted for a number of reasons. Please help us show our support for Amanda and all sufferers of CF. Any donation small or large would be appreciated to help us achieve our target. Your donations will go towards funding new research methods and supporting quality of care in terms of practical and emotional support for those with CF and their loved ones.

Another way to support our cause would be to get on the NHS Organ Donor Register if you have not done so already. There is no greater gift than giving someone extra time with their families and friends.

Wish us luck!

Amber, Beth, Chris, Ed, John, Kevin, Lisa, Sam, Sophie, Yas and Karen
