Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My cousin Josh and I are going on a 6 day cycle ride in July in aid of charity. We will cycle about 180 miles over 4 days coming home from the New Forest via the Isle of Wight. The other 2 days we will spend visiting our aunt in Poole. We both felt that now we have finished our exams and are having a great time on holiday, we should help those who desperately need aid.
Yemen is experiencing the largest humanitarian crisis in the world today, yet the saddest part is that few people know about it. As one of the poorest countries in the Middle East, the civil war has crippled the country’s water, sanitation and health infrastructures. The nation is on the brink of famine, unemployment is as high as 65% and economy is facing collapse. There is a severe lack of adequate health care and clean water which has exacerbated the spread of disease and illness. In 2017, the country hosted the largest cholera outbreak on record, with over 1 million cases in one year. Thousands have died in the conflict, and nearly 80% of the country (22.2 million people) are in need of humanitarian assistance.
Not only would we massively appreciate your support but we would love it even more if you could donate, no matter how big or small, to Tearfund to help their life-saving work in Yemen.
Thank you
Thomas and Josh :)
