I am running the Virgin London Marathon 2018 for St Elizabeth’s
Centre.  I have chosen this charity because not only do I work for
this incredible charity, but I believe in the good work it does for children
and adults with epilepsy and learning difficulties.  I work within the
college as a learning support assistant that supports young adults from 19 – 25
years old.  I started working here in January 2017 and I absolutely love it. 
Every day is different at the college, I am very lucky that I work with an
amazing team who feel as passionate about their work as I do. 

My role consists of facilitating learning with the young people, so they can
lead fulfilled and independent lives.  We work together to ensure they are
taught essential skills that develop their confidence, independence which further supports their life ambitions. 

The main reason why I wish to fundraise for the learners and residents
of the St Elizabeth’s Centre is because I truly admire them all. I see
students every day that suffer at the hands of epilepsy which is a terrible
condition that is terribly complicated.  It makes me truly appreciate how
lucky I am to be in a position where I can help the people who use the centre
through teaching and fundraising.   The students I work with have a
great mind set and keep trying to better themselves because they have a love
for learning which is fantastic.  They all have ambitions of working and
I’m privileged that I get to support them in their life choices.  Even in
the short time I have worked at the college I can see the students overcome
various obstacles and face them head on, so they succeed.  This is because as a team we ensure they are supported to do this and give them the facilities to overcome barriers in their lives.

That is why I need your support to help me raise £1800 so this fantastic
work can continue.  The students have been thinking of fundraising ideas
and are excited about supporting me too (so watch this space!).  Thank you
