Life Uplifted by Change In Africa (LUCIA), is a charity run entirely by enthusiastic volunteers. It aims to improve the lives of people living in poor areas of Africa. It does this using various methods including Self Help Groups, Sustainable Development programmes, Orphan Girls and Street Children Projects.

My story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

On 31st May, Liz and I will be running the 8.5 miles Great Midlands Fun Run course around Sutton Coldfield and Sutton Park - including that dratted Cardiac Hill! We are raising funds for LUCIA, a super small charity which is run by a group of people in Birmingham. LUCIA stands for Life Uplifted By Change In Africa. Basically they support Ethiopian women and orphans, channelling money directly to projects that need it. None of the people who run it take any admin fees, and they go out to Ethiopia on their own money once a year.
