Story
Thank you for visiting FUW Basingstoke's LEJO'G fundraising page for 2008.
LEJO'G stands for Lands End from John O'Groats. It is a nationwide running relay involving teams from up and down the UK.
On the 12th September 2008, 10 of FUW Basingstoke's most inexperienced althetes have taken it upon ourselves take part in this relay and the run Stage 13 section from Credition to Lostwithiel. As a result it is likely to cripple the local economy in Melton Mowbray and they will have to brace themselves for the toughest economical crisis in living history.
We have realised to do this we have got to go cold turkey so we are not messing about. As a result we are even giving up pasties too!
All ten of us are putting our running shoes on and attempting to run the 70(ish) mile cross country Stage 13 leg which will be somewhere in the South West of England. We are doing this so we can raise at least £2500 pounds for SeeAbility which is the trading name for (Royal Institute for the Blind).
What makes it all the more incredible is that - all but a few of us get a stitch on the walk to the drinks machine to get our full-fat latte.
For that reason, instead of giving your children their weekly pocket money or saving up for that eagerly anticipated summer holiday - give that money to us, all of it.
Multiples of £100 are recommended - although if you want to give us a little bit less that will also be welcome!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SeeAbility will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
