Hove YMCA is leading a team of volunteers including disadvantaged young people from the local area to Gambia in December 2009. Their mission is to help people in the Serekunda region of Gambia, West Africa.

Whilst in Gambia, a team of young people and volunteers from Hove YMCA, will be delivering a range of sporting activities in 3 primary schools in the Serekunda region. We will also be providing teaching resources so that the schools can continue these programmes in the future.

We can only run this project through your donations. Until the end of the year we are running loads of events including fun days, fetes, quizzes, football tournaments and music nights. We are also hoping to get our coordinator Ross Wignall to do a sponsored skydive! Your money will mainly go towards the travel costs for the young people and taking sporting equipment and teaching resources out to the Gambia schools who are desperately short of all kinds of resources.
