So hi everyone, this is the reason I've decided to do this. On New Year’s Eve my brother went into hospital for a major heart operation. The duration was 10.5 hours long because there were a lot of complications. He has been in and out of hospital all his life, he’s had several big operations and he is only 22 years old. This has been going on since he was born and with his special needs he is deeply reliant on continuing healthcare. He is the toughest guy I know and still he makes it through. And my mum is the toughest woman I know for staying with him the entire time.

But this operation really got to him, he never worries and he just accepts what’s going on, but he will never understand why. What did it for me was when he turned to my mum after the operation, when he was lying there in intensive care and he said 'I can’t take this anymore'. How much more will he take? Thankfully he has recovered and is home after nearly 4 weeks. I cannot thank the surgeons and nurses who helped him enough.

This guy will never go out to the pub, never drive a car or even go out for a walk on his own. But it’s the charities which make the difference. One example is he flew a plane over our old house. WOW!!!

So I ask you to look into your hearts and help me raise money for him and the other children and adults that can’t. Because with our help, THEY CAN.
