In the last 5 or 6 years, I have achieved some pretty big goals in my life: - 1. Kicked a deathly habit that almost got the better of me 2. Given up all I owned and moved to the other side of the world to start over again 3. Achieved a few more bodily piercings and holes than I imagined I would have 4. Run around in my underwear to raise money for Charity 5. Managed to get myself a pretty impressive job somehow 6. Seen my 2 favourite bands live in concert 7. Finally went over the 60kg mark for the first time in my life, and kept it all on - WOOO HOOO ! ! ! ! 8. And probably the biggest one of all - FIRE WALKED - and man, that was impressive It may not seem like much, but to me, these are big things, as I am sure that those who know me will agree with. So then I thought, WHAT NEXT ? What could I possibly do that could push me on every level - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually ? And it dawned on me ! RUN THE FRIKKIN' LONDON MARATHON, but for someone and something close to your heart ! So, through LOA and other principles I apply, I came across a Golden Ticket Draw for Action on Addiction, and I applied, not thinking much of it. Lo and behold - a ticket has been issued and a place has been given, and so dawns the greatest challenge of my life - The 2008 Flora London Marathon ! ! According to all the "gurus" why should we dream if we can't dream big ! So yeah, this time I am going big and will be putting everything I have into this one - mind, body and soul. If I can walk across a bed of burning coals (something that should not be physically possible) then I am sure that with a lot of effort and dedication, I will be able to achieve this next goal I have set for myself, and I ask that you please help and support me in working towards this. I somehow plan to document and record this challenging event, and will keep you somehow updated as time goes by. But as we stand now, the smoking is coming to an end, the final party is being organised and held, and the hard work is slowly but surely falling into place - so it has begun !
