We had an fantastic time in New York and loved the marathon (well ok so the actual running bit was a bit tough).

We arrived late on Friday night but were up early the next morning to join 5000 other foreigners for the "International Friendship Run" from the UN HQ building to Central Park, which was amazing. The whole of Saturday was taken up with marathon stuff finishing with pasta (horrible) and fireworks (brilliant) in the Park. The actual marathon started early on Staten Island so we were in Times Square at 5am queueing for the bus! There were great crowds along the whole marathon route which was an unforgettable experience and running down 5th Avenue into Central Park to the finish was pretty cool.

Best of all I think we will have raised about £6000 for Asthma UK!!!!

Having run this marathon side-by -side with Anna I've promised i'm going to do another one in the spring to see what I can manage on my own: strangely can't quite find the motivation at the moment though!
