Just about recovered after the Celtic Ride Challenge of last weekend. I have to admit it has to be one of the hardest challenges ever!!
260 miles said, is totally different to 260 miles ridden. The first 60 miles from Aberystwyth to Fishguard were very challenging, the hilly terrain, the headwind and the rain all had a major effect on a real difficult first day. Day 2 Rosslaire to Dunlerry in Dublin was 90 miles of hell. Busy roads, 20mph headwind and 9.5 hours of real exhausting effort. Day 3, Holyhead to Aberystwyth, was lovely to be back in beautiful Wales. How many of you really understand how many hills and mountains there are on this stretch of road?? As far as I am concerned, too many!!! Life saver on the 3 day was Vaseline stops every 10 miles. Left Holyhead 9am and got into Aberystwyth 7.30pm. The shear relief and self achievement made it all worthwhile.
Thank you for your support for such a worthy cause
I will be taking part in a Schoolchildren for Children sponsored bike ride from Aberystwyth to Fishguard (Fishguard - Rosslare Ferry) Rosslare to Dublin (Dublin - Holyhead Ferry) and culminating in a ride from Holyhead back to Aberystwyth. A grand total of 260 miles. The idea will be to complete the 260-mile ride in just 3 days.
Please be as generous as possible with your sponsorship.
The money will be donated to Schoolchildren for Children to benefit disadvantaged children living in appalling conditions in the developing world. None of the monies raised through this challenge will be used for administrative purposes. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Schoolchildren for Children gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
