My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On Sunday 26 April, I will be running the Flora London Marathon for the armed forces charity, Help for Heroes.  The reason for choosing this charity is that I have many friends and family who have/are seeing active service in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Thankfully none of my friends have been killed or injured to-date, but with many of them serving in the Royal Air Force they are heavily involved in casualty extraction in the battle field, treatment of the wounded and repatriation back to the UK for further treatment.

I am aiming to complete the FLM in a time of 4:00 - 4:15 hours.  In between juggling family life and work, I have been attempting to follow Runners World magazines 16 week training programme, which included completing the maximum distance training run of 22 mile on Sunday 5th April.

More information about the work of Help for Heroes can be found at; http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I would be very honoured if you could take the time to sponsor me for what I believe is a very valuable cause.  So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks,

Gareth
