Services include safe accommodation in Lincoln Refuge; advice and support at Lincoln and Grantham Women's Centres and the Young People's Project.

My story

Let me introduce myself, my is name is Garry Jones. On the 1st May I will be visiting the fabulous Las Vegas to watch Ricky Hatton vs Manny Pacquiao. Whilst in Las Vegas I've come up with the idea of doing a sponsored run from the Stratosphere Hotel to the MGM Grand Hotel and back - a total of 9 miles. I'm not sure what I'm letting myself in for - the max temperature in Las Vegas in May can be in the 30's!

I'll be raising money for the Lincoln Women's Aid New Refuge Appeal, so thanks for visiting my fundraising page and please be generous!

Lincoln Women's Aid's long-held ambition has been to create a purpose built refuge in Lincoln (serving the whole of the county) for women and children who have to flee their home because of violence and abuse. The existing refuge is too small and no longer suitable. The new refuge is under construction and, once completed, will house 11 families. LWA needs to raise money to furnish and equip their new refuge and make the dream a reality!

Sadly domestic violence - physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse - is very common and affects 1 in 4 women during their lifetimes. Many families arrive at the Refuge with very litte, so LWA wants the new refuge to be a welcoming and safe haven.
