My name is Garry Stone and on 26 April 2009, I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my Dad, Ian Stone.

I lost my dad in October 2008 to liver complications.  Earlier in 2008 he was diagnosed as having a rare disease named Alpha 1 which can affect the lungs and the liver.

I am now running the marathon in his memory and to help raise funds and awareness for the Alpha 1 Awareness UK charity.

I ask you if you would sponsor me for as much as you could or as little as you want, but please sponsor me!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alpha 1 Awareness UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

The charity raise awareness and support sufferers of, and research into, Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.  This is a genetic condition which causes lung and liver problems.  More information can be found on their website, www.alpha1awareness.org.uk

So please sponsor me now! And pass on the website address to as many people as you know.
