Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Annette's JustGiving page. Annette passed away peacefully at St Columba’s Hospice, Edinburgh on Thursday 16 January 2014, attended by her loving family. Annette (nee Pearson) dearly loved wife of Gavin, beloved mother to Beth, Caitlin and Grace, daughter of Frank and the late Nan and sister to Jim and Alexandra (Sandy)

Instead of flowers the family have requested that donations are made to the St Columba's Hospice for the great work they do and for the special care they provided to Annette and her family in her final days.

Many of you will know Annette as a swimmer and water polo player. She was arguably the finest female polo player ever produced in Scotland. She was in 2 world record teams for the 100mile relay and had over 60 caps for GB, playing in European and world championships and pre Olympic tournaments. Despite this she was a true club person and once said her proudest moment was captaining Menzieshill to the British Ladies Polo Championship in 1984. She was also the first ever Scottish Water Polo Player of the year.
