Hello People!
Yes, I am mad!! But we all know that anyway :) I decided that I needed to do something challenging and exciting in 2009 - following on from cycling London-Paris and doing a bungee jump in 2008.
I have seen some of the London Triathlon on the TV in the past, and always thought I'd like to give it a try - as I'm not very exceptional at any one sport, but have loads of determination & will power. So, since I need to work off some of those biscuits, cake and chips I'm rather partial to, I thought I'd set my self the target of the Triathlon in 2009!
It takes place on the 1st of August, based at ExCeL (Docklands area) in London. I am entered for the 'Sprint' class, which involves a 750m swim (in the Thames!), 20km bike ride and finishing with a 5km run. If you want to come down on the day and support/cajole/shout at me, that would be great too :)
I am determined to complete the whole course, even if I have to crawl to the end, and It would give me great inspiration if I could raise as much as possible for Sustrans.
Sustrans do great work for cycling, I have ridden many of their brilliant routes over the years including Coast 2 Coast (Whitehaven-Tynemouth), London - Newhaven, and my favourite Bristol - Bath cyclepath :)
Please sponsor and support me & Sustrans, it will be very very much appreciated!!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sustrans gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
