Governor Services
Congratulations and a huge thanks to Andrew Burtenshaw (parent governor) for completing his sponsored swin in aid iof the Bubble Foundation raising £325 so far and counting!
GSHS Charity Golf Day 2010
£10,000 up for grabs on Tuesday 1st June if you can get a hole in one on the par 3 16th at Gosforth Golf Club. There are 16 teams of 4 taking place and great prizes to be had. Cheers to those who had paid online in advance. Exact totals to follow next week.
Charity Day 5
Just a bog standard non uniform day on the 28th May as all the exams take priority, but still a magnificent effort to raise even more the Bubble Appeal. Exact total to follow.
Year 10 Diploma Students
Thanks to both Year 10 Diploma classes who raised ovver £160 in their enterprise activities washing cars and selling all osrts of bits and pieces. This is a great effort and takes us ever closer to the magic number. Well done to you all and thank you.
Morrison's Bag Packing
Thanks to our student volunteers and the good people at Morrsion's in Killingworth we managed to raise aalmost £1,700 on our easter Saturday bag packing event. TRhanks to one and all for your support.
Charity Day 4
We had our latest charity day on the 1st April and the first count has a total of £799.00 raised. Thanks to everyone for helping however you managed it including Miss Rigby & Mr Potts classes in the morning, Heather, Jadine, Maddison & Becky plus all those helping in the gym.
GSHS Got Talent
Congratulations to Rebecca, Taylor, Sarah & Sam on your success. We raised £300 from the raffle and the sale of refereshments and Mr Kain has donated £200 from the ticket sales to the Bubble Appeal. Thanks to Mr Houghton and the 6th form girls for your help on the night.
Year 8 Quizathon
Thanks to the year 8 tutor team we raised over £170 by completing a quizathon in assembly. Thanks to everyone especially Miss Tassiker and Mr Jarvie (Sr.) who organised it and those who sponsored the year 8 students.
Sponsored Swim -
D Dawson in Year 7 managed 60 laps of the Lakeside pool and raised almost £100. No fuss, no massive amount of organising just a great idea and someone willing to go the extra mile to help us. Can you match his efforts!
Year 7 Disco -
The Year 7 students had a disco where all of the money raised went to the Bubble Appeal. Thanks to all of you and especially Miss Heron & Miss Renton for raising another £100.

Miss Siddall has decided like a crazy person to climb Mt. Kilimanjiro. She is preapring thoroughly and is ready to go. Non Uniform Day
We had a great Hallowe'en day and a range of scary faces turmed up on the day. Thanks to everyone who turned up and to Miss Milton's gang and the pie boys for their activities on the day. We raised over £800.
Gameshow Night
The Gameshow night was fantastic and cheers to everyone who helped present, compete in or organise the games on the day. We had over 600 texts and thanks to the people at www.redsms.co.uk for their kind support donating the return texts free of charge.

Asda Bag Pack
Thanks to the staff and customers at Asda Benton we got off to a flyer and raised over £1900 for the Bubble Appeal and the Wizard of Oz. Cheers to everyone whol helped on the day.
NUFC Prediction Competition
You will see below that the NUFC competition has gone outside of the school walls and suport has been great. Thanks to the people at NUFC.com and NUSC for their help in drawing attention to the school charity appeal.
We have a history of helping local charities and in 2009 we raised over £10,000 for the good people at Tiny Lives who support the Special Care Baby Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. This year we are trying to do the same again for the Bubble Foundation based at the Children's Bone Marrow Unut based at Newcastle General Hospital.
