Well, here I am sitting at my computer thinking - I am climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in just three weeks time! So, for making such a tremendous effort, I think someone should benefit! I have chosen the charity WACIA - Women and Children in Africa.
In a nutshell, WACIA works in areas where there is extreme humanitarian need, providing aid and hope through projects in the areas of education, health and rural development. They work in partnership with individuals and communities to enable them to improve their lives. Particular focus is given to small, achievable projects that can become self-sustaining within a period of 2 to 5 years. These projects are making a real difference to women and children disadvantaged by poverty in Africa.
Administration costs are borne by the charity enabling all donations to go directly to the projects. Any support you can give will fund this vital work. I hope you agree, this is a very worthwhile cause.
So, I am climbing the highest freestanding mountain in Africa (19,340 feet) and now it's your turn! I know it's a tough year for everyone, but these people would see us as millionaires. Just sacrifice a night out, or cut down on the cigarettes for a week, then donate the proceeds to my charity and it won't have cost you anything!!
This will be your good deed for the day and will provide brighter futures for many women and children in Africa.
