UPDATE: We did it! It was a pretty soggy affair, and it seems that Glencoe miles are longer than standard ones, but we both completed every step of the hike and are very chuffed to have raised so much money for such a fantastic cause - THANK YOU!
You can still add to our total, donations will be accepted until the end of August.
On 1st August 2009, we'll be hiking 23 miles through Glencoe via the Devil's Staircase. We're taking on this challenge in memory of Sarah Morris (Vicki's sister and Syd's friend) who died from cancer in 2006. You can read Vicki's blog entry here about why Marie Curie means so much to us.
Sarah died in the Marie Curie hospice in Edinburgh; the care and support that all the staff gave to her, and to her family and friends, was just incredible - this is our way of saying thank you to them. Please help us raise as much money as possible so that Marie Curie can continue it's work to support all those affected by cancer. Sarah would be very proud.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now, it really WILL make a difference!
