Brain Tumour Research - Beatson Clinic
On 16th and 17th October 2008 four members of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team cycled from Glengad on the north coast of County Donegal to the Kingspark area of Glasgow (approx. 200 miles).
We did this in memory of Michael Duffy, my brother-in-law, who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer in February 2008. The sponsor money raised will go to the University of Glasgow Brain Tumour Research fund, which is currently carrying out work through the Beatson Oncology Unit in Glasgow.
Total time in the saddle 12 hours 59 minutes and 40 seconds.
Throughout our challenge we received great support on both sides of the water.
On behalf of Michaels wife, Mandy and his mum & dad, Margaret & Mickie, thank you for all the donations so far.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: University Of Glasgow Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
If you would prefer not to donate on line, donations can be sent to K.MacKenzie, Douglas Ewart High School, Corsbie Road, Newton Stewart, DG8 6JQ
Many thanks for your support.
Ken MacKenzie
