Glenwood Church is partnered with the church in Gorom-Gorom, Burkina Faso- a land-locked country in the heart of West Africa. According to the UN, it is the second poorest country in the world. Keith Smith has been working in Burkina Faso since 1989.
During the coming year we hope to start building a Christian primary school in Gorom-Gorom, to support the vision of Pastor Daniel for the mission of the church there. This will improve the education and development of the neediest parts of Burkino Faso, but also introduce children to the life and good news of Christ.
Three hectares of land have been acquired for the school, just on the outskirts of Gorom-Gorom. The first phase will require three classrooms, a well, a house for the head teacher, a kitchen, and toilets. Glenwood Church hopes to raise the money to build phase 1 of the school by June 2009.
