My story

 
Thank you for visiting the GlobeCycle fundraising page. I am James Bowthorpe, an honorary research fellow with the What's Driving Parkinson's team. I hope that the speed and endurance of my challenge to beat the Round-the-World Cycle Time-Record, will reflect the urgency of the team's research. I need to raise £100 for each mile, cycling 120 miles a day for 150 days. My target is big, but don't let that put you off donating any amount. The GlobeCycle fundraising campaign aims to reach as many people as possible who think progress of research into Parkinson's Disease has been painfully slow - it was first described almost 200 years ago.

My inspiration to take on this record breaking challenge is seeing patients benefit, and just how far this innovative research has come on a financial shoestring. Detailed plans are in place to take the research forward over 5 years, with maximal efficiency. All that is needed is the money.
