<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: 10pt;">St Peter’s Hospital has a renowned specialist Early Births Unit, with 9 cot spaces caring for babies born prematurely and with the complications that come with being born early and underweight. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: 10pt;">The reason this cause is so close to me is because, in the early months of 1978, I was one of their little patients, born two months early and hitting the scales at 4lbs 0oz.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: 10pt;">The Early Births Unit is fundraising to expand the unit to add an extra 3 cot spaces and buy the specialist equipment – each cot space costs around £80,000 to equip fully.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: 10pt;">My walk starts on Friday 14 September, and I’ll be stopping at Buxton, Matlock Bath, Derby, Coalville and Nuneaton. After a day’s “breather” in Nuneaton I’ll be pressing on through Rugby, Towcester, Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead and Slough before arriving in Chertsey on Tuesday 25 September.</span></p>
