Believe it or not, the challenge is to ride our Motorbikes from John O'Groats to Lands End (End to End) and cover 1000 miles in one go within 24Hrs. The group of riders consists of members from the Lisburn IAM (Institute of Advanced Motoring) Motorbike group here in Northern Ireland and myself as well as a couple of hangers-on from England and Scotland.

Although the straight distance between the two is 847miles, we are trying to qualify for the "Iron Butt" UK’s “End to End” certificate. The Ironbutt is an organisation which set & ride various long distance challenges within set time limits. This means that we are taking detours to round upthe mileage to 1000 miles in 24 hours.  Requirements of this are that we gain start & finish witnesses and keep fuel stop receipts to send for verification as proof of completing the full ride. We will start the ride down to Lands End on Sat 4rd July early morning (5am ish) and aim to arrive within 24hrs (hoping to do it faster!) at Lands End. However on top of this 'wee jolly' we have to make our way to John O'Groats and then back home again from Lands End. Using Google maps this is around 1900 mile plus journey over the space of a long weekend, So a big challenge regardless of what you might think!

All Money raised is going to the MS Society of Great Britain, as per my previous charity events.  So, go on, spare a wee bit and help out a great cause. (Sponsor me per mile maybe? or any donation will be received gladly)
