Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the weekend of 4-6 September, I will be taking part in the Pedal for Primus challenge to raise money for Faith and Football. F&F is Portsmouth based charity that aims to support and encourage young people, especially in socially deprived areas. As part of this work I am involved with running football groups in the Somerstown area, where 7-13 year olds are given the opportunity of playing organised football, and also a scheme called Extra Time, where I go into schools to give additional support to children with low reading ages, on a one to one basis. To find out more about Faith & Football, visit their website here.
The Pedal for Primus challenge starts on Friday 4 September 2009 where we will leave from Portsmouth Football Club and cycle to Bournemouth FC via Southampton FC. The following day we will cover a route from Bournemouth FC to Winchester FC, and then the final day will be Winchester FC to Portsmouth FC, via Petersfield. The whole route will cover 160 miles. All money that we raise from this challenge will go directly to Faith & Football to support the work that is done in Portsmouth, Birmingham and Plymouth. For more information, visit the Pedal for Primus site here.
This is the second year that Faith & Football have run the Pedal for Primus challenge. Unfortunately last year Claire's mum was ill in hospital, so I was unable to take part in the full challenge, although I joined in for the last stretch from Reading FC to Portsmouth FC. This year though, I'm ready for it and, God willing, will be there from beginning to end! I would greatly appreciate any donation you are able to make and would value both your support and your prayers for this event.
