Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
From 11th July 2014, I am riding from Whitehaven to Scarborough, via Shap and Northallerton, a total distance of about 190 miles, over 3 days, off-road.
To be fair, initially, I signed up to do this merely as an incentive to get out on the bike and thus get fit and lose some 'handles'. However, it seemed to me that more benefit could come out of this endeavour than just reducing the strain on my trouser waist belts. Tragically, my uncle died earlier this year due to brain cancer, and there are a number of others I know, and I'm sure that you do too, who are fighting cancer. Therefore, I felt that it would be appropriate for me to lend my support to this extremely worthy cause.
In a sense, you can give in order to acknowledge the 3-day ride, or to acknowledge the hours of training that started back in the winter, or the fact that whilst I'm out training my wife, Emma, is having to deal with the kids on her own, or you can give simply because it is a good cause. The most important thing is that you give what you are able. I know that both CRUK and myself will be very grateful for whatever you can manage.
