Please be generous as this Society  fulfills a much needed service and support system to the over 750 000 people who suffer from dementia in the UK. Of this figure 1 in 20 people over the age of 65 and 1 in 5 people over the age of 80 suffer from dementia. The service given by the Alzheimers Society is absolutely necessary and they rely on people like yourself to help them financially.

On a happier note, back home in the UK, a bit warmer than NYC. Yes we both finished the marathon, Michelle doing it in a very creditable 4hours and 47 minutes and this old geezer doing a 5 hours and 24 minutes. Not too shabby for a 48 year old who has had a heart attack 3 years ago. At least I proved that I can still cover the distance but not as fast as I used to be. We both had a great trip, did a bit of sight seeing and were very impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of NYC, and what an organised event. The organisation was brilliant, certainly the best organised marathon or ultra marathon I have participated in. NOW PLEASE SEND YOUR SPONSORSHIPS / DONATIONS IN. The time has come to collect on all those promises. Lets see your results.
