Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Running the London Marathon in 2006 did not put me off and I am now in this year’s race on 13th April. My place was obtained through Havering Mayesbrook Atheletic Club where I am a coach. This year I have chosen to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society because a few years ago I had to look after my grandmother when she suffered from Alzheimer’s following the death of my mother. At work, Julie Meehan, a colleague, is leading the fundraising, her father is a sufferer. Alzheimer’s is one of the most common types of dementia. Dementia is a term used to describe various different brain disorders that have in common a loss of brain function that is usually progressive and eventually severe. The Alzheimer’s Society provide day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring. They also invest in research, provide telephone and online support and raise awareness. I am well into my training schedule now including long runs and races at the weekends. My goal is to beat my previous time of 3 hours 47 minutes. So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
