Gus Levy passed away on 1st March 2009. Mike, his partner, along with his family have requested donations towards the children's charity Chance UK, an organisation close to Gus' heart, insead of flowers.
Gus spent a year as a volunteer mentor with Chance UK. He was matched with Luke, a child who needed help and support in managing his own behaviour. Mentoring Luke was one of the most enriching experiences of Gus' adult life. He saw getting to know and care for Luke as an immense privilege for which he was deeply grateful to Luke's mum and to Chance UK. Loving people was one of Gus's outstanding talents, but in mentoring Luke it found a practical application that gave him a profound sense of fulfilment. He devoted a great amount of thought and energy to each weekly meeting. Luke's growth in self-confidence was the greatest reward he could ever hope to receive.
