UPDATE - DUE TO BROKEN BONES I HAVE HAD TO WITHDRAW FROM THIS EVENT. HOWEVER PLEASE CONTINUE TO MAKE DONATIONS TO REACT TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR TARGETS..........
I am competing in the London Triathlon to raise money for a charity called REACT that works to ensure that children living as refugees receive an education. This a cause that I feel passionate about.
The majority of those displaced by conflict are children. Many are forced to live in refugee camps where daily survival must take priority over learning. Education is vital to help keep alive their hopes of leading a normal life.
By sponsoring me, you will have made a direct contribution to improving the lives and life-chances of these children. Thank you.
About REACT
In refugee camps, children lack access to teaching and books and cannot sit formal exams, often leaving them unable to gain the vital qualifications and skills needed to acquire work. REACT helps children and young people displaced by conflict to exercise their right to an education, offering them a chance to fulfill their potential and re-enter their society as equals.
REACT's Darfuri Books Project
Many of the 3 million people displaced by the ongoing conflict in Darfur were forced to cross into Chad to escape the fighting, where they now live indefinitely in makeshift refugee camps. REACT aims to ensure that children living in these camps receive an education by supporting vital training for teachers and providing schools with much-needed text books.
I've sorted out the entry fees so by donating on this page, REACT gets your donation in full and faster. What's more, if you're a UK tax payer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid and a 3% supplement are added to your donation.
Many thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
