About our charity :

War Child
War Child is an international child protection agency that works with the most marginalised children - child soldiers, street kids and children in prison - in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. War Child believes it is unacceptable that children continue to be victims of war. 66% of people who die in conflict are children. In the last decade alone 1.5 million children have died in wars. Four million have been disabled and a further 10 million traumatised. We provide vital, on the ground support programmes in each of the conflict zones we work in but also lobby politicians and governments to ensure our cause and the rights of children affected by war remains high on the public and political agendas. This approach allows us to ensure every pound we receive goes as far as possible - not only to the crucial projects in the field, but to ensuring children caught up in conflict, no matter where they may be, have a chance to be protected. We work where other agencies do not, reaching the most at risk children in the most dangerous war zones and your support means we can continue to do so. War Child looks forward to a world in which war is not prosecuted on children.

Dumball 08: Mission to Corfu

We're going to prove the known world is flat, by driving from London to the very edge.... Corfu.

Equipped with a London Taxi (The Fibre Glass Goose), fancy dress & a keen sense of the ridiculous we will blaze a slow moving rattling trail across Europe.

We have tested the Taxi & its comfortable cruising speed is 30MPH, unfortunately we'll have to drive at 50MPH to make it to Corfu within the allotted time span, so you will, in fact be sponsoring us to be uncomfortable & in fear of our lives for at least 4 days of the journey! Such value! Oh yeah!

We leave the shores of Blightly on the 23rd of May, for the actual start of the Rally, which leaves from Brussels under the Atomonium on the 24th May. The predicted arrival time in Corfu is the 31st of May, hopefully....

The countries we will be visiting, in order: Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia and Greece.

We will be endeavouring to create & eventually publish a travelogue of our journey, so, many pictures & hopefully some videos (technology allowing).

We'll be raising money for Warchild, a charity that helps children & young people recover from the effects of conflict.Did you know that: Over 30 Wars & conflicts rage around the world. Many of these wars go unreported due to political expediency or lack of interest.

That's the charidee part & it is very important as this is why we're doing the Rally.
