John & Sharan's Half Way Round Charity Bike Ride
What we aim to do is raise money for the Tong-Len charity by riding through sun, rain but hopefully not snow, two up on a motorbike through 23 countries on four continents covering approximately 50,000 miles. We want to do this, and we’d like your help, because we believe that every child, no matter which country, creed or religion he or she was born into deserves an education and access to basic health care.Displaced families from some of the poorest areas of India have come to the Kanga Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Here there are a large number of communities struggling to survive. Disease is rife and this is exacerbated by severe malnutrition. Children, like their parents, have little or no opportunities for education.
Tong-Len's mission is to help displaced communities in North India achieve a secure and sustainable future by addressing the root causes of their poverty and ill-health through a range of education and health-based projects. One of our main drives is to provide young children with an education and basic health care so that they can develope a future for themselves and there familes.

OK, lets be honest, we want your sponsorship to help the children to go to school and have basic health care. But we also want you to follow us on our trip and so to thank you for your sponsorship we hope to keep you amused by sending you regular emails containing videos, photos and blogs of our miss-adventures, minor accidents and run ins with the law. Watch as we try to dig our bike out of the Sahara sand, forge across flooded rivers in South America, get hopelessly lost in Central America and "discuss" speeding fines with US police.
