This June, elite mountain-climbing teams from the Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham offices will go head to head with a ragtag of London misfits in a 24 hour race over the highest peaks in Scotland, Wales and England.

That is, climbing Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m), and covering the distance (over 500miles) between all three, in just 24 hours!

By contrast to Hammonds' other offices, the London team have decided against several practice runs and a rigorous training schedule in the belief that a combination of pro-plus, lucozade, Kendal Mint Cake and the natural country air will suffice. On June 19-20 this philosophy, and pride of the office, will be put to the test.

If nothing else, it will at least provide the London office with the opportunity to display their superior income by raising more money for the office charities than the regions!

THE LONDON OFFICE CHARITIES

All money raised in aid of the challenge will be distributed evenly between:

1. Street League: a charity which transforms the lives of disadvantaged young people and adults in the UK through a structured football and education programme that helps build confidence, improve health, extend social networks, and develop skills towards long-term education, employment and independence; and

2. Orchid: which acts to increase public awareness and improve and simplify the treatment of men's cancer by funding research into diagnosis, prevention and treatment of men's cancer.
