Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a sixth form pupil at Allerton High School I have an opportunity to attend Camps International in Kenya which runs award winning volunteer & enrichment trips to Africa & Asia for young people. They run all their own camps and have established long term relationships with the communities in which they work. Their projects are worthwhile, sustainable and meaningful to those undertaking them.

This expedition will provide me with extraordinary opportunities. Life on an expedition will place me in situations that cannot be replicated in the classroom, and will set me apart from the rest of my peers in the eyes of future employers or colleges/universities. Whilst travelling to an exciting part of the world, I will contribute to very important and rewarding community and wildlife projects and will give me unique opportunities to integrate with new cultures, speak new languages, gain a deeper understanding of other communities, make new and lasting friendships and improve my leadership and team-working skills.

In rural Kenya, around 70% of people are living below the poverty line and access to proper sanitation, clean drinking water, healthcare and an education are often limited or non-existent.

During the expedition I will be working on a number of award-winning, ongoing projects designed to improve the living standards of local communities. Project work could involve anything from low-level construction work, painting classrooms, building desks, and constructing water tanks, to teaching pupils, playing sports and preparing meals for children.

In order to represent my school at I have to raise £3400 to fund the trip. The money is necessary to cover transportation, accommodation and insurance.

I am planning to walk the three peaks challenge on the 29th of August and am collecting sponsors to go towards my trip.

Can I count on your support? Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated, and will go directly towards funding this important educational experience. Thank you in advance for your generous donation.
