On 3rd July I'll be setting off with 4 team mates to Lands End to start a 1000 mile cycle to John O'Groats, taking in 3 countries, and about 75 miles a day for 2 weeks.
I'm doing this to raise money for "re-cycle", a superb charity that recycles second hand bicycles and takes them to Africa to give African people a chance to get around, trade and reduce their average 2 hour walk a day to collect water. The charity distribute bikes and teach riders the skills to repair and maintain them. The bikes also help health/AIDS workers reach remote villages and even provide an ambulance service in remote Namibia.
Transport and development go hand-in-hand. Simple, affordable transport generates wealth in developing countries, as well as saving lots of time and back-breaking work. Bikes give families the extra time to earn, learn and enjoy life, so please please sponsor me - I'm going to need all the encouragement I can get to get up all those hills and get back on my no doubt very sore rear end every day!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Re-Cycle (Bicycle Aid for Africa) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! Bicycles Really Can Change Lives....
