As many of you know, at Christmas I am going to India to the Russ Foundation Girl's Orphanage with a group of students and teachers from my college.
As well as the orphanage the Russ/Good Foundation manages a huge HIV/AIDS program which involves significant outreach work. The projects primarily focus on working with people who are ostracised by both their families and their community due to their HIV status and deliver a comprehensive preventative awareness program.Russ also runs health clinics staffed by four community nurses covering forty villages and hamlets with a population of around 40,000 people. TAI is a project for sex workers run by a small team of doctors, social workers and medical staff enabling over 2,000 people to access basic education, health care and legal rights and representation.
In September I am doing a sponsored sky dive to raise money for the Good Foundation. I would love it if you could sponsor me so leaping to my death somehow becomes worthwhile! I think this is a great cause and I will also be able to see the effects of the money that is raised, which is a rare bonus.
