~ THANK YOU for visiting our fundraising page!! ~ On Sunday - hopefully not in the pouring rain!  - we will be running in the Asics British 10km race for A-CET (African Childrens Educational Trust). A-CET is a small charity organisation focused in the education of African children particularly in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is one of Africa's poorest states and two-thirds of its population is illiterate. A-CET is concentrating their work in the region of North Tigray and this includes upgrading and building more elementary schools. Currently there are around 80-120 pupils in each class and this is on the increase. We both know a Cambridge graduate who was supported by A-CET during his undergraduate degree (BSc. in Engineering) in Ethiopia and graduate studies (Msc.in Information Systems Management, DMU Leicester and MPhil in Computational Biology, Cambridge University). He is currently working on malaria research at the Sanger Institute (a well known research center) in Cambridge. In October he will commence his PhD, funded by Wellcome Trust.
