Story
Hi
I am rather madly riding in a charity race on 3rd July - my first ever! It is the first race at the evening meeting at Newbury over 1 1/2 miles on the flat. This photo is me on my hunter over a Beaufort hedge but she's definitely not built for speed so Harry Herbert of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing has offered help source an appropriate horse for me to ride (hopefully a fast one!) so I'll be wearing Highclere's colours and I believe that Paul Webber has very kindly agreed to lend me a horse for the race. I am now in full personal training, riding out most mornings on Emma Lavelle's gallops at Hatherden (getting used to riding short and hanging on for dear life!) and on the bicycle / gym circuit in the afternoon. Dinah is very bored that I am permanently knackered!
I am aiming to raise as much money as possible for the nominated charity, the Animal Health Trust, which for all us animal lovers is a really good cause. All donations very gratefully received.
The race is also in celebration of George Frewer, a young boy at Radley who died tragically a year ago - many of you will know Martin and Caroline.
Thanks so much for your support and hopefully see you on the night!
Harry
