Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
A diagnosis of cancer of the mouth, tongue, nose or throat is devastating news to our patients. Treatments, which may include invasive surgery, plastic surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy often seriously alter how patients look, speak, taste and swallow, thus denying them the basic pleasures of life that most take for granted.
Heads Up is a Head & Neck Cancer Research Charity formed a little over six years ago by ENT Consultant Surgeons Rogan Corbridge and Graham Cox and Oncologist Amanda Salisbury as a dedicated fund under the auspices of the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Trust.
On 1 July 2007 we appointed our Research Scientist, Stephan Feller, who sole remit is to conduct research into Head & Neck cancers, their causes and biology with the aim of producing more effective and less invasive treatments. Because of the present economic climate Cancer Research UK have withdrawn their funding support for researchers salaries so we desperately need your help to continue with this vital, leading edge work.
To quote one of our patients: "Head and Neck cancers are horrible and spiteful; thank goodness Heads Up is looking for ways to cure this frightening disease".
