I know you all made it possible for me to hike the Inca Trail in June 2007 and I raised over £4,000 for Cancerbackup. Well, one of our close friends died in September 2008 from an Asthma Attack at the age of 34 and it made us realize it was time to raise some more money for charity in remembrance of him. So, Martyn and I are completing 2 challenges this year to raise money for Asthma UK.
We shall be running the Great North Run on September 20th and then decided it was a bright idea 5 days later to fly to Asia to cycle the Great Wall of China with Charity Challenge for 8 days - 300 miles total! Each day we will cycle approximately 50kms - 90kms in the shadows of the Great Wall. This challenge covers a route along one of the world’s best known UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is a demanding expedition and we are absolutely dreading anything that is up hill! Our target this time is to raise at least £6,000 for both of us and both events and we turn to you all again for help and support. This should be an extremely achievable target if you can all give generously. WE ARE RELYING ON YOU TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE.
Please don’t wait for others to make that first move and please give as much as you can so that we can smash the minimum amount! If we can get this money together sooner rather than later then it would be a huge success. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Asthma UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
