Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am trying to raise £3,000 for Farleigh Hospice by taking part in their trek to Cambodia. This is not a holiday - it's a physical, mental and emotional challenge and a way of giving something back by raising much needed funds for this wonderful Hospice.
What is a Hospice?
There are a number of hospices throughout the UK and worldwide. Hospices provide palliative care for people in their local community with cancer and other illnesses.
Their work focuses on living not dying and helps patients and their families to continue to live beyond the diagnosis of a life limiting illness.
Maybe I can persuade you to be extra generous by telling you about some of the daily expenses ;
£ 37.00 pays for an Occupational Therapist to visit a patient at home for an hour
£ 64.00 pays for a nurse to visit a patient at home
£ 79.00 pays for the daily cost of running the Mobile Hospice vehicle
£ 118.00 pays for a day patient to visit the Hospice for a day
£ 416.00 pays for the care of one inpatient for 24 hours
These are just a few facts about the costs of running a Hospice. For more information about Farleigh Hospice please visit their website http://www.farleighhospice.org
All the money raised will be given to Farleigh Hospice to help with the wonderful work that they do in the community.
